My undergraduate degree was obtained in Psychology at Simon Fraser University, many years ago. From there, I went on to complete a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology at Adler University in Chicago. After graduation I spent over 10 years providing clinical counselling services to the students at SFU as a member of the counselling team.
I completed my PhD in 2016 and went to work for the University of British Columbia as a Mental Health expert in the Human Resources department. I provided the HR staff with expert advice and support on their most complex mental health cases. I have advanced training in the diagnosis, treatment and management of Personality Disorders and am a member of the International Society for the Study of Personality Disorders. I provide clinical consultation to other therapists working with this population. I frequently teach courses on this subject at the graduate level and in the community for organizations.
I have always dreamed of having my own counselling practice and working with my own community, so in 2018 I opened Pinfield Counselling Coaching Consulting and began seeing clients.
I feel privileged to work with each and every person in my office. Everyone has a story to tell and a burden to bear. If I can provide some relief for them on their journey through life I am blessed.
Full of books and easily accessible from the street. No elevators or intercom systems. Just knock on the front door.
Many individuals find it an ice breaker to be greeted by these two. Teenagers especially like cuddling with them while sharing painful memories.
Counselling Equestrians in the lower mainland requires me to travel to different barns and equestrian establishments - something I love doing.
