I graduated from Adler University in Chicago in 2004 with a MA in Counselling Psychology and began practicing as a clinical counsellor for Simon Fraser University. I spent 12 years working with university students of all ages struggling with various life issues.
In 2014 I started teaching classes at Adler University for the MA Counselling and MA Art Therapy program where I teach graduate students training to become counsellors.
I completed my PhD in 2016 and went to work for the University of British Columbia as a Mental Health expert in the Human Resources department. I provided the HR staff with expert advice and support on their most complex mental health cases.
I have always dreamed of having my own counselling practice and working with my own community, so in 2018 I opened Pinfield Counselling Coaching Consulting and began seeing clients. I am an Equestrian Therapist working with riders and coaches in the Lower Mainland on issues such as trauma from equestrian accidents and performance anxiety. I am also an EMDR therapist in Surrey.
I feel privileged to work with each and every person in my office. Everyone has a story to tell and a burden to bear. If I can provide some relief for them on their journey through life I am blessed.
Full of books and easily accessible from the street. No elevators or intercom systems. Just knock on the front door.
Many individuals find it an ice breaker to be greeted by these two. Teenagers especially like cuddling with them while sharing painful memories.
Counselling Equestrians in the lower mainland requires me to travel to different barns and equestrian establishments - something I love doing.
