This 6 week course is designed to help all riders improve their ability to be emotionally resilient. Resilience is the ability to "bounce-Back" after hardship or difficulty in life and it effects our ability to be brave in the saddle. Students will learn what factors influence resilience and how to increase their resilience with useful practices over 6 weeks. One class per week for 6 weeks. Classes are 1.5 hours each. The Trauma Informed Equestrian Coaching Certification is a 4 part series (8 hours total) designed to give Coaches the tools they need to work with riders from a trauma informed perspective. Learners are given the science behind how early life adversity shapes the neural connections in the brain and influences a rider's response to stress. Basic neuroscience principles combined with learning theory are provided to help equestrian coaches and riders understand what happens to the body and the brain after a traumatic accident. This course is delivered live online with Megan.

TIP is 2 hour introduction to the basic principles of trauma informed horsemanship. TIP provides participants with an overview of what it takes to have a trauma informed barn environment and introduces them to the fundamentals of what trauma is and what it does to the brain of both horses and people. This course is online in person and delivered live with Megan.

4-week course for coaches (8 hours total) Understanding how trauma influences and changes brain structure and function and how it alters our perception of events. Coaches will learn why using a trauma informed lens is critical in teaching, coaching and caring for others. Course ends with an introduction to using the SAFE RIDE coaching system.

This workshop is for SAFE RIDE certified coaches. It provides a brief re-introduction to SAFE RIDE and provides space for coaches to bring examples from their practice to work through problems and difficulties with the system.

A 2-hour workshop examining the similarities and differences between horse and human symptoms of trauma and PTSD. Delivered online.
A 2-hour workshop on understanding Classical Conditioning principles for fear and PTSD. This course explains how habits and automatic reactions develop in horses and humans and presents strategies for undoing these learned behaviors.
A 2-hour workshop exploring the overlapping symptoms and how to recognize each in equestrians. Students will learn exactly what happens in the brain to cause those nasty mTBI symptoms and understand why riders can get an mTBI even when they don’t fall off or hit their heads. Delivered online or in-person.
2-hour workshop on dealing with horse show anxiety. Simple mental strategies for in-the-moment anxiety due to performance pressures. Delivered online or in-person.
2-hour workshop on communication skills to address conflict
Delivered online or in person. Must have 10+ participants to offer a workshop.

This 1 hour workshop will help riders understand what “normal” anxiety vs is what is problematic anxiety that needs addressing with a mental health provider. Delivered online or in-person.
A 2-hour workshop to help equestrians build emotional resilience and self-kindness during times of stress. Delivered online or in person.
A 2-hour workshop to help you understand principles of learning in mammals. If you have ever felt confused by reward-based training, this course will help you figure out how and when operant conditioning principles work.
Delivered live online.
An 8-week program to help young athletes build emotional resilience skills. Delivered in-person at your barn tack room or lounge for 10+ riders.
This is an art-based program. Supplies are provided by the facilitator but a room with tables is required for delivery. Students will be making art while learning resilience skills.

If your group would like one of Megan's pre-prepared workshops on Riding Fear, Trauma In Equestrian Sports or Trauma Informed Equestrian Coaching prices are less than a custom designed presentation for your specific barn. For a 2 hour pre-prepared workshop, which includes handouts and free give-away swag, Megan charges $70 per person for groups of 10 or more.
Yes! When you enroll in the Trauma Informed Coaching series you receive credit for Professional Developemnt through HCBC.
